A piece of art that became two... This was one piece that had a defect I didn't like so it was turned into 2 pieces. .
It had been fired multiple times and has a lot of depth. I almost threw it away. Glad I stepped back and thought about it first. 😁

The rocks were created with what is known as "petrified wood" glass that changes after it has been fired. .

Birch Trees in Lavender, plum, and pink. This 7 layer beauty has so much depth and vibrant colors to it.

Several shades of purples and pinks in frit were used to create this. The colors really pop against the black matting, and the gray frame. The trees are hand painted on both white and gray sheet glass.

Salmon hiding in the reeds... This glass fish was fired using iridized glass in silver, Adventuring green for the top. The find and tail also are an iridized glass.

The reeds are copper that was hand worked and embedded in a piece of granite.

Some people think it is a salmon and some people think it is a trout..... That is the beauty of art... So many interpretations 😁...

This piece was fired several times as I was determined to save it after a mishap during the initial firing in the kiln. I had some explosions causing large air bubbles and although not perfect I didn't have to throw it away. *
I think it allows your creativeness to come out when a mistake happens. That is why they call it art. Plus you learn why the mistakes happen. 😁

This fish was made with variations of iridized glass in teals, greens, blues, and a little purple. The fins are a silver iridized glass, and it was fired twice to get the base. The 2nd firing was done to achieve the depth.

There is a layer of clear glass between each layer of frit and pieces of petrified wood glass.

Petrified wood glass starts as a clear glass with swirls of light yellow and orangey rust that shifts to a petrified wood finish. Very fun to work with!
